Year in review 2016

Time to reflect on the year gone by
Today was the last day in the office at Moov2 for 2016, so I thought I'd cast my mind back over the past 12 months and reflect on what went on. Looking through my emails and calendar it would seem it was a heck of a lot. I was going to try and summarise it in some succinct prose, but after reviewing there was just far too much. So here, in all it's bulleted glory, is a load of "stuff", both work and personal, that was significant to me in 2016:
- Attended PGConnects London
- Entered the Dyfi Winter Warm-up mountain bike race
- Attended the first VR Southampton Meetup, met the lovely Samantha and Bertie who I bumped into lots more this year.
- My Sister created a human, my awesome little nephew
- Gave a talk at WebDevCon for Southampton Solent University about networking
- Attended the first Guardian Live gaming event
- Spoke to the University of Southampton's entrepreneurship society "Fish on Toast" about personal branding
- Bought an amazing little camper van
- Organised Rocket Jump London
- Organised Hacksoton
- Snuck in a weeks snowboarding in Italy
- Devastated by the closure of Lionhead :(
- Organised Rocket Jump Guildford
- Entered the Forest of Dean Wild Boar mountain bike race
- Attended Supermassive Games charity gaming night
- Went away for a few days in the Lake District
- Jack joined Moov2
- Entered Mountain Mayhem mountain bike race
- Organised re:cognition hack with Mircosoft
- Exhibited Moov2 for the first time at the University of Surrey's G3 event
- Attended Develop conference in Brighton
- Introduced monthly "Team day" self development days at Moov2
- Attended UKIE Whitehall event
- Organised Shareup Soton
- Ben J joined Moov2
- Celebrated my first wedding anniversary to my fantastic wife Andrea
- Travelled Scotland in campervan for said anniversary, pretending to be in a spaceship listening to the No Man's Sky soundtrack
- Attended EGX
- Attended Silicon Beach
- Set up a Pension scheme
- Entered Coed Y Brenin Enduro mountain bike race
- Survived 13 years of running a business
- Organised Rocket Jump Bournemouth
- Joined TIGA
- Organised Barcamp Southampton
- Attended Guildford Game Jam
- Ran a digital workshop at Itchen College
- Started building an extension to my house
- Organised Moov2 Xmas Grand Prix
- Attended several Guildford Gamedev meetups
- Attended lots of board game and video game nights at Moov2 thanks to Lawrence
- Attended some "Evening Of" events by Rareloop
- Worked with a lot of amazing people from our amazing clients:

Phew! I've no doubt missed a load of other people/events/things but suffice to say, I'm glad to have a few days off before diving into 2017. My next and last post of this crazy #adventblogging lark, will be sharing my plans for the year ahead.
