Responsive Web Design Microsoft.com

By admin on 05/10/2012

MicrosoftI've just been reading up on the recent Microsoft.com responsive home page redesign, loads of interesting fodder for reading:

The main thing I'm noticing though, throughout the site being presented and the sites from which they're being presented, is how streamlined and simplified the content is.

And that makes perfect sense!

If you can chip away at the volume of content you're throwing out in any one content instance (site/page/panel/whatever) you're not only making the technical tasks of designing, coding and styling easier, you're also making the most important job of all easier - consumption.

I think a key mantra for RWD has to be (as it does with many things), that your content needs to be the simplest thing that can possibly work and nothing more.

Amazing work from the Paravel guys and so valuable for the rest of us that they're sharing so much detail about it.
